India recently announced its 15 man squad for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which is scheduled to be played from 5th October 2023 in India. The squad announced by India had no surprises and included players which almost everyone had predicted. However, the Indian fans did not like the fact that Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal was ignored despite having great ODI records.

The ICC has confirmed that the last date for the change in World Cup 2023 squad is 28th September 2023 and till then the teams can modify their squads for the World Cup without having to seek any approval from the International Cricket Council.

BCCI chief selectors are mulling on a few changes in the World Cup squad. According to the recent reports, Shreyas Iyer is still not fit enough to play continuously for India in the World Cup. He was even left out of the game against Pakistan due to the back spasm.

On the other hand, Shardul Thakur is also expected to make way for another player in the squad. Thakur has failed to impress so far in Asia Cup 2023 and is yet to make an impact. Team India selectors are expected to include Sanju Samson in place of Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvendra Chahal in place of Shardul Thakur in the World Cup 2023 squad.
