However, the determined Kiwi skipper has shown remarkable recovery progress and is now in contention for a spot in the World Cup squad.

Notably, Kane Williamson has exceeded expectations regarding his recovery timeline. While many anticipated a gradual return to competitive cricket, Williamson has set his sights on participating in the warm-up games, showcasing his unwavering commitment to his team and country.

“Not a huge amount. Although the load is going to keep increasing, so there is a little bit of an unknown. But it has felt pretty good really in the last few weeks.”

Kane Williamson’s commitment to participating in the warm-up games reflects his determination to regain full fitness and contribute to the team’s success in the ODI World Cup. New Zealand’s prospects in the tournament significantly hinge on his availability, given his pivotal role as the team’s leader and premier batsman.

In the previous two editions of the ODI World Cup, Kane Williamson played a central role in leading New Zealand to the finals. Despite falling short on both occasions, the Kiwis will be eager to go one step further and clinch the elusive World Cup trophy this year. With Williamson on the path to recovery, New Zealand’s aspirations have received a significant boost as they prepare for their World Cup journey.
