Pathum Nissanka Silva, born on May 18, 1998, is a talented Sri Lankan cricketer who represents Sri Lanka across all three formats of the game. He marked his international debut for the Sri Lankan cricket team in March 2021 and has cemented his place as a permanent opening batsman. Pathum Nissanka is happily married to Esha Kumarasighe.

Pathum Nissanka, born on May 18, 1998, hails from Galle. His family faced financial challenges, with his father, Sunil Silva, working as a ground boy and his mother selling flowers near the Kalutara temple. Despite their modest means, Pathum began his cricket journey during his time at Kalutara Vidyalaya.
In a remarkable display of talent, he scored an unbeaten double century (205) off 190 balls against President’s College, Rajagiriya, at the Colts ground in Colombo during the School Cricket Championship. This early success paved the way for his cricket career.
Pathum Nissanka made his List A debut for Hambantota District in the 2016–17 Districts One Day Tournament on March 17, 2017. Subsequently, he ventured into Twenty20 cricket, debuting for Badureliya Sports Club in the 2017–18 SLC Twenty20 Tournament on February 24, 2018.
His promising performances led to his inclusion in Kandy’s squad for various tournaments, including the Super Four Provincial Tournament in March 2018 and the 2018 Super Provincial One Day Tournament in the following month. He continued to represent Kandy in the 2019 Super Provincial One Day Tournament.

Pathum Nissanka’s cricket journey continued as he was selected for the SLC Greens team in the 2021 SLC Invitational T20 League tournament in August 2021. Later, in November 2021, he was chosen to play for the Colombo Stars in the 2021 Lanka Premier League following the players’ draft. In July 2022, he joined the Kandy Falcons for the 2022 Lanka Premier League tournament.
