Hardik Pandya Injury Update World Cup 2023: Ruled Out of India vs England Match

Hardik Pandya is set to miss India’s upcoming World Cup match against England on October 29 in Lucknow, as reported by DilHaiCricket. Pandya is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained during India’s match against Bangladesh on October 19.

“Pandya has suffered a bad sprain but fortunately not a fracture. The BCCI medical team wants to take maximum precaution. He is likely to miss next two to three matches. The team wants him fully fit for the knock-out stage,” said a BCCI source according to DilHaiCricket.

The champion all-rounder was ruled out of the Men in Blue’s game against New Zealand in Dharamshala. Although the injury is not considered severe, the management is being cautious and prefers to give Pandya more time to recover.

During the game against Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Pandya suffered the injury in the ninth over. As he attempted to block a drive from Bangladeshi batsman Litton Das, he lost his balance and strained his left ankle. He displayed discomfort, leading to an immediate response from the ground medical staff.

After the match, Rohit Sharma discussed Pandya’s condition with the media. While Sharma clarified that the injury wasn’t serious, he stressed the need for further assessments and daily monitoring. He reassured fans that India’s vice-captain had not sustained any significant injuries.
