England and Australia are the two powerhouses of cricket. Australia has won the ODI World Cup a record five times, while England are the defending champions. However, both teams are struggling to win the matches in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 group stage, and their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals are in jeopardy.
England has already lost three matches, which include an upset against the Afghanistan Cricket Team and a huge defeat against the South Africans. They are currently at the 8th place in the points table with a net run rate of -1.248. The chances of England reaching the semi-finals are very minimal as they need to win almost all of the remaining matches and with a good margin in order to get back their net run rate in the positive.

On the other hand, Australia has come back in the race for the semi-finals with a massive victory over Pakistan and a dominating win over the Netherlands. They have suddenly jumped to the fourth spot in the points table with three wins in five games. India, South Africa and New Zealand round up the top four.
Pakistan is also in the hunt, but they are in the same boat as England. They need to win almost all of their matches to qualify for the semi-finals.
