Chennai Super Kings to Buy Jason Holder in IPL 2024 Auction?

When asked about his preferred IPL franchise, Holder mentioned having enjoyed his time with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings, but acknowledged that the decision is not in his hands.

Downplaying concerns about burnout, former West Indies captain Jason Holder supported scheduling the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) before the T20 World Cup, emphasizing the benefits of gaining more game time and form ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Holder expressed his belief that participating in the IPL would mentally prepare players for the global tournament. When asked about his preferred IPL franchise, Holder mentioned having enjoyed his time with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings, but acknowledged that the decision is not in his hands.

Highlighting the importance of understanding the balance between international cricket and franchise tournaments, Holder stressed the significance of international cricket as the foundation for such leagues. Reflecting on his performance in the Abu Dhabi T20 League with Samp Army, Holder expressed satisfaction and hoped to win the competition.

Discussing West Indies’ preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Holder emphasized the significance of series against England and Australia as crucial opportunities for the team to gather before the tournament. He anticipated that franchise tournaments would aid the team in finding its rhythm. Looking ahead to the 2024 T20 World Cup, Holder conveyed his excitement for the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the US, although the ICC has yet to release the tournament itinerary.

Holder, who made his T20I debut in 2014, discussed his contributions with both bat and ball in the format, having taken 57 wickets and scored 407 runs in 55 T20I matches. He also highlighted his involvement in the West Indies squad’s triumph in the 2016 T20 World Cup.
