The World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 has witnessed its fair share of twists and turns, with the latest update bringing South Africa to the forefront after a commanding victory against India. The table reflects the teams performances, and here’s the current status after the conclusion of the India vs South Africa 1st Test match.

    IND 2

India faced a significant setback in the WTC 2023-25 as they suffered a heavy defeat against South Africa. The Proteas secured an innings and 32-run victory, with India managing only 131 runs in their second innings. To compound India’s woes, two points were docked from their tally due to a slow over-rate.

This defeat saw India plummet to the sixth position in the WTC table. The performance in Centurion highlighted the challenges the team faces, and they now need a strong comeback in the upcoming matches to climb the rankings.

    SA

South Africa, on the other hand, soared to the top of the WTC table after a dominating performance against India. This marked their first Test match in the third WTC cycle, and the Proteas showcased their prowess by securing an emphatic victory.

The win not only earned South Africa valuable points but also propelled them to the leading position in the WTC standings. As the latest entrant to the cycle, South Africa will be looking to maintain their momentum in the matches to come.

    AUS

Australia, the defending champion of the 2021-23 World Test Championship, has performed commendably in the ongoing cycle. Despite being docked 10 points due to a slow over rate, Australia remains a strong contender, currently occupying the second position in the WTC table. They have played the most Tests in the cycle, winning four and losing two.

Pakistan, initially placed second, experienced a dip in percentage after a 0-2 Test series loss against Australia. The team, led by Shan Masood, has accumulated 12 points and is positioned third in the WTC rankings.

    PAK

Bangladesh made history by defeating New Zealand in the first match of their two-Test series. Although they couldn’t clinch the series, their performance against the Black Caps has put them in a respectable position in the WTC table.
