Aamer Jamal’s father is a farmer while his mother is a homemaker. He also two brothers and two sisters who have always supported him.
Brought up in Rawalpindi after his birth in Mianwali, Aamer Jamal initiated his cricket journey predominantly in and around Rawalpindi. His domestic career commenced in 2013, participating in inter-region Under-19 and departmental Under-19 tournaments.

Following his contributions to the Pakistan U19 team, Aamer Jamal ventured into club and league cricket in England.
Upon his return to Pakistan, facing limited opportunities in Grade II matches, he took the initiative to financially support himself and his family. Resorting to unconventional means, he purchased a car on loan from the bank and worked as an online taxi driver.
Aamer Jamal marked his first-class debut for Pakistan Television in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on 1 September 2018. His List A debut for Pakistan Television occurred in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup on 22 September 2018.
In January 2021, he secured a spot in Northern’s squad for the 2020–21 Pakistan Cup.

In September 2022, he earned a spot in Pakistan’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the series against England. Making his T20I debut on 28 September 2022, he showcased his skills against England.
Come June 2023, he found his place in the Pakistani Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka. Later, in November 2023, he received another call-up to Pakistan’s test squad for a 3-match Test series against Australia. Debuting in the first Test on 14 December 2023, he made a remarkable entrance, claiming figures of 6/111 in the first innings. This performance marked him as the 14th bowler for Pakistan to secure a five-wicket haul on Test debut.
