In the upcoming 26th match of the International League T20 2024, Gulf Giants (GUL) will face MI Emirates (EMI) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 8. Gulf Giants currently hold the third position with four wins out of eight matches, while MI Emirates lead the table with six wins out of eight.
In their recent match against Desert Vipers, MI Emirates chose to bat after losing the toss. Despite a shaky start, they managed to post a formidable total of 188 runs, thanks to notable contributions from Kusal Perera, Ambati Rayudu, and Nicholas Pooran. Although Desert Vipers struggled initially, a remarkable eighth-wicket partnership salvaged their innings, but they fell short by 30 runs.
Meanwhile, Gulf Giants faced Dubai Capitals in their last match, opting to bat first after losing the toss. Despite a challenging start and losing early wickets, they managed to reach a respectable total of 126 runs, primarily due to a crucial partnership for the fifth wicket. In response, Dubai Capitals made a decent start but faltered with wickets falling at regular intervals, ultimately losing by 19 runs despite Dasun Shanaka’s efforts.
