Gautam Gambhir is making comments after comments on India’s World Cup plans in 2023. He is one of the first ones to suggest that BCCI manage the workload of Indian players in IPL 2023 so that they can be fit for the upcoming ODI World Cup.
Gambhir has also said that the Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) needs to find a replacement for Hardik Pandya, who is highly prone to injury. The former World Cup-winning player has said that the Indian cricket team needs someone like Hardik Pandya in their team as the backup.
This time Gautam Gambhir has made a striking comment which may disappoint his own IPL franchise Lucknow Supergiants. Gambhir said, “winning the World Cup is far more important than winning the IPL.” The former left-handed Indian batter is looking way ahead and feels IPL is just a stepping stone for the Indian cricket team, and they should prepare for the upcoming World Cup.
BCCI has also started planning for the World Cup by doing a meeting in which they selected 20 players who will be rotated until the World Cup to choose the best possible squad for India.
