“Glenn Phillips wasn’t feeling well…,” Kane Williamson

"Glenn Phillips wasn't feeling well, but he still came out and played an incredible knock," Kane Williamson

The New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has revealed that the reason Glenn Phillips was sent behind Micheal Bracewell in the final ODI against Pakistan was that he was not feeling well. However, Phillips decided to bat when New Zealand was in trouble during the penultimate final ODI.

Glenn Phillips played a blinder and single-handedly won the match for New Zealand out of nowhere. He blasted his maiden half-century in ODI cricket in just 26 balls and remained unbeaten to see his team home. Phillips was sensational for New Zealand and snatched the match away from Pakistan with his blitzing knock.

Now, Williamson has revealed that despite not feeling well Phillips managed to smash the Pakistani bowlers all over the ground. Williamson said, “Glenn Phillips wasn’t feeling well, but he still came out and played an incredible knock.”

Glenn Phillips scored an unbeaten 63* off 42 with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes. He guided his team in the chase of 281 runs. In the end, New Zealand won with 11 balls and 2 wickets to spare.
