    Viacom18, owned by Reliance, has won the media rights of Women IPL for Rs 951 Crores for the period of 2023-2027. The per match cost of Women’s IPL is a staggering Rs 7.10 Crore. Women’s IPL has already broken tons of records when it comes to per-match cost for digital rights in the world of league cricket.

    The Board of Cricket Council of India has made it clear that they want to organise the first Women’s IPL in 2023, and the organisations that want to bid for the team must have a net worth of Rs 1000 Crores. Most of the franchise owners in IPL are interested in buying the Women’s IPL teams, and BCCI is gearing up to soon conduct all formalities and kick off the Women’s IPL in 2023.

    Viacom18 has paid a hefty sum for digital media rights of Women’s IPL from 2023-2027. It shows that Women’s cricket is on a rise in India, and BCCI is heavily invested in making this league a successful tournament.

    BCCI has earlier said that a total of 5 teams will be allowed in the first three Women’s IPL, and we can expect an expansion to about 7-8 teams by 2026.
