Najam Sethi, the newly appointed PCB Chief, is keen to schedule a meeting with Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Cricket Council of India and the president of the Asian Cricket Council. He recently commented that Jay Shah is not replying to his emails and wants to discuss the details regarding the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.
Jay Shah said in 2022 that India would not visit Pakistan to play in the Asia Cup 2023, and the tournament will be held at a neutral venue. In reply to this, the former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja said that if India does not come to Pakistan for Asia Cup, then Pakistan will not visit India for the ODI World Cup 2023.
Since the speculations about whether Asia Cup 2023 is going to be held are catching fire, Najam Sethi, the current chief of PCB, wants to find a solution to this same issue. He visited the UAE to arrange a meeting with Jay Shah and finalise the Asia Cup 2023 venue. Now, if Jay Shah conducts a meeting with him, we can hope to put an end to the debate of where Asia Cup 2023 is actually going to be played.
