Strike Rate Higher than Sehwag, Best Average after Don Bradman; This Batter is the New Superstar of Test Cricket

England also won the second Test played against West Indies at Trent Bridge. England won this match by 241 runs. During this match, the fame of that batsman was also seen spreading, about whom it would not be wrong to say that he could be the new superstar of cricket.

When it comes to strike rate in Test history, the names of batsmen like Virender Sehwag and David Warner come to mind first. When we talk about batting average in Tests, we are compared with Don Bradman because there is no other standard before him. We are also seeing the era of Fab Four comprising Root, Smith, Williamson and Virat. But, the way Harry Brook has presented his game to the world in the longest format of cricket, it would not be wrong to say that he can be the new superstar of Test cricket.

Strike Rate Higher than Sehwag, Best Average after Don Bradman; This Batter is the New Superstar of Test Cricket

Ahead of Sehwag in strike rate, behind only Bradman in average

Harry Brook. The new superstar of Test cricket. This is because whether it is his strike rate or batting average, he has been seen to meet both the standards. His strike rate is better than Virender Sehwag, which shows his aggression in red ball cricket. At the same time, after playing more than 20 Test innings, he is standing at such a position in terms of batting average that only Sir Don Bradman can be seen standing ahead of him.

Not Just a Batter, But the New Superstar of Test!

25-year-old England batsman Harry Brook has scored 1376 runs in 23 innings of 14 Tests played so far. During this, he has scored 5 centuries and 8 half-centuries. His average is 62.54 while his strike rate is 90.70. Now if we compare Brook’s strike rate with Sehwag’s strike rate in his Test career, he appears to be ahead. Brook’s strike rate is 90.70 while Sehwag’s is 82.23 after playing 104 Tests. Similarly, in terms of Test batting average, Brook is second after playing 23 innings. Only Don Bradman has a better average of 99.94 than him.
