The third and final ODI between India and Sri Lanka is set to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 7. India is aiming for a victory in this match, but will spinners dominate the pitch, or will the batsmen shine? Here’s what to expect from the pitch conditions.

IND vs SL 3rd ODI Pitch Report: How Will the R. Premadasa Stadium Pitch Play?

In the first ODI played at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium, Sri Lanka scored 230 runs. In the second ODI, Sri Lanka set a target of 240 runs, but the Indian team was dismissed for 208 runs. In both matches, Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and chose to bat first. On both occasions, Sri Lanka set a substantial total by batting first.

The average score in the first innings at this ground in ODI International cricket is 242 runs. This suggests that if the batsmen get settled, they can post a big score, putting pressure on the team batting second, as spinners tend to get considerable assistance. This was evident in the second ODI, where Jeffrey Vandersay took 6 wickets, dismantling the Indian batting order.
