Zimbabwe Makes History by Scoring 344 Runs in 20 Overs, Breaking India’s Major T20I Record

Zimbabwe set a new record in T20 international cricket by scoring an astonishing 344-4 against Gambia at the Ruaraka Sports Club Ground in Nairobi on Wednesday. Sikandar Raza starred with an impressive unbeaten 133 runs off just 43 balls. This remarkable total surpassed the previous record of 314-3, held by Nepal, which was set against Mongolia in Hangzhou last year.

Raza, who entered the match after the second wicket fell in the seventh over, hit seven fours and an incredible 15 sixes during his innings. He reached his century in just 33 balls, tying with Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton for the second-fastest T20I century.

This achievement is only six balls slower than Sahil Chauhan’s record of 27 balls for Estonia against Cyprus in June. The highest individual score in T20Is remains with Australian opener Aaron Finch, who scored 172 against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2018.
