IPL 2025 Auction Day 2- CSK Buys Sam Curran, Faf Goes to DC, Rahane Remains Unsold

The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction continued into Day 2 in Jeddah, with teams holding a combined remaining purse of ₹174 crore to fill their remaining player slots. Punjab Kings led with ₹22.50 crore, while Sunrisers Hyderabad had the smallest remaining purse at ₹5.15 crore. The auction on Day 2 featured players numbered 85 to 564, following the same format as Day 1 until player 116, after which the auction shifted to an accelerated format. Teams were then asked to submit their preferred players list from numbers 117 to 574.

On Day 1, India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history, with a ₹27 crore bid from Lucknow Super Giants, surpassing Shreyas Iyer’s ₹26.75 crore. Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer was a surprise pick, returning to Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹23.75 crore.
