In exciting news for cricket enthusiasts, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to announce the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Monday, December 16. After repeated delays, the ICC has finally resolved key disagreements between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), paving the way for the announcement.

According to ARYNews, negotiations between the ICC, PCB, BCCI, and other cricket boards are nearing completion. The PCB, the official host of the Champions Trophy 2025, has scheduled a Board of Governors (BoG) meeting on December 18. During this meeting, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will discuss matters related to the Champions Trophy, the Pakistan Super League, and the upcoming cricket calendar.

To address long-standing issues, the ICC has brokered an agreement between the PCB and BCCI to adopt a hybrid model for all multi-nation tournaments hosted in India and Pakistan until 2027. This agreement ensures that cricket teams from both nations will not need to travel to each other’s countries for matches.

The hybrid model will apply to three major ICC tournaments planned between 2025 and 2027. These include the Champions Trophy (2025) in Pakistan, the Women’s ODI World Cup (2025) in India, and the Men’s T20 World Cup (2026) in India and Sri Lanka.
