    In the third ODI against Ireland, the Indian women’s cricket team made history by crossing the 400-run mark for the first time in their ODI history. Their previous highest score was 370 runs, but thanks to centuries from Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal, Team India reached this milestone at the Rajkot ground. The team scored 400 runs in just 46 overs. This match was historic for the Indian women’s team as they became the first Asian side to score over 400 runs in an ODI.

    How Many Times Has 400 Been Scored in Women’s Cricket?

    This was the sixth instance of a team scoring over 400 runs in women’s cricket. New Zealand has done it four times, while Australia has achieved this feat once. India is now the first Asian team to cross the 400-run mark in ODIs. Interestingly, the 400-run score has been achieved four times against Ireland. Other instances include one against Denmark and one against Pakistan. Team India also scored over 350 runs in two consecutive matches, a first in the history of Indian women’s cricket. Previously, New Zealand had achieved 350+ scores in three consecutive ODIs.

    India Breaks Its Own Record in 72 Hours

    On January 12, Team India had scored 370 runs against Ireland in the second ODI, which was their highest ODI total at the time. However, within 72 hours, they broke this record by crossing the 400-run mark. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal played crucial roles in this achievement. Pratika scored her maiden ODI century, smashing 154 runs off 129 balls. Meanwhile, captain Smriti Mandhana scored a blazing 135 off just 80 balls, reaching her century in just 70 balls. This made her the fastest Indian woman to score a century in ODI cricket.

    India Posts 435 Against Ireland

    Team India posted a total of 435 runs in 50 overs against Ireland. Apart from the centuries by Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh contributed with a quick 59. During India’s innings, the team hit a total of 9 sixes and 48 fours. Ireland’s poor bowling added to their woes, as they conceded 29 extras.
