Due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the BCCI has made a major decision and suspended IPL 2025 for one week. This sudden stop to the league has come as a shock to fans, leaving many of them in a state of confusion—especially those who had purchased tickets to enjoy the matches live in stadiums. The big question now is: what will happen to these sold tickets? Will fans get a refund, or will the BCCI make alternative arrangements?
According to the official IPL ticket policy, if a match is completely cancelled without a single ball being bowled, ticket holders are eligible for a refund. However, it remains unclear what rules will apply in the case of the tournament being postponed for just a week. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made a huge decision regarding already sold match tickets.

LSG and SRH to the Refund the Ticket Amount
LSG and SRH have already announced that the fans who have bought ticket for the matches at their home grounds— Ekana Stadium and Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium respectively, will get a full refund. Fans can expect the refund money to be credited to their bank accounts soon.
What will Other Franchises Do?
Lucknow and Hyderabad have already announced that they will refund the ticket money for their matches. Other franchises might follow the same approach, as the BCCI has not yet clarified when, where, and from which venue the IPL will resume. In such uncertain times, offering refunds could be a way for franchises to provide relief to the fans. Another possible solution is to declare the already sold tickets valid for the rescheduled matches.
When Will IPL Restart?
There are rumours that IPL 2025 is going to restart from 16th May 2025. 16 matches are yet to be played in the tournament. BCCI is aiming to finish the tournament on 25th May 2025. This means that there will be a considerable number of double headers. Franchises have been asked to get their team ready as soon as possible.

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad and MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai are shortlisted to host the remaining league matches of the tournament.
