India has a very long history of Test Cricket. Many fast bowlers got the opportunity to represent India in the longest format of the game over the years. However, there is one record of the legendary Kapil Dev that no Indian fast bowler, from the present generation, can even come closer to.

Kapil Dev was one of the fittest cricketers of his time. This is evident from the fact that Kapil Dev missed only one Test in his 16-year career. He played 66 consecutive Tests before missing the only Test match of his career that started on December 31, 1984 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata against England.

Kapil Dev feels that ‘running’ has been his fitness mantra. He used to run, and run, and run, and that’s what helped him in creating this unbreakable record.

Do you know Kapil Dev once bowled 30.3 overs continuously in the 2nd innings of a Test match out of the 60.3 overs bowled in that innings.

Kapil Dev is the only player to score 4000 runs and take 400 wickets in Test cricket. Kapil Dev was Team India’s captain when the team lifted the World Cup for the first time in 1983. One of his most memorable moments of that tournament was his 175 not out against Zimbabwe.
