On Thursday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board admitted that the extensive travel involved will adversely affect their Asia Cup 2023 campaign. The BCB, along with other Asian nations, is facing this predicament due to the ongoing dispute between the cricketing boards of India and Pakistan (BCCI vs PCB).
The Asia Cup 2023 is being played using a hybrid model, and Bangladesh, placed in Group B, will compete in their group phase matches in Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
After their initial group B match against Sri Lanka on August 31, they will travel to Pakistan to face Afghanistan on September 3. If they qualify, their first Super Four game will be followed by two more in Sri Lanka. In case they make it to the Asia Cup 2023 final, it will also be held in Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chairman of cricket operations, Jalal Yunus, confirmed that the team must travel to Lahore for their first match. The initial round consists of two matches, one in Sri Lanka and one in Pakistan, so they have no choice but to travel.
To ensure the journey is comfortable, the Asia Cup organizers (ACC) have arranged chartered flights for the teams. Yunus stated that they will be flying in chartered planes, and the Asian Cricket Council is handling the arrangements. He also expressed a preference for excellent airline services, whether it’s a national airline or a chartered flight, as it would be beneficial for everyone involved.
