The Bangladesh Cricket Board has revealed its roster for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Shakib Al Hasan will lead the team in the regional ODI competition. The squad includes newcomers Tanzid Tamim and Shamim Hossain, alongside the return of Mahedi Hasan.
Shakib Al Hasan has been appointed as the ODI captain for both the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup, taking over from Tamim Iqbal. Tamim Iqbal stepped down due to injury, leading to the need for a new captain.
Tazid Hasan, nicknamed Tamim, joins the squad following a successful performance in the Emerging Asia Cup. The 22-year-old impressed with three half-centuries during the tournament.
