The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed their discontent with Jay Shah, who serves as the BCCI secretary and president of the Asian Cricket Council, for prematurely disclosing the schedule of the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023. The PCB was unhappy that the schedule was revealed before the official ceremony in Lahore.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had carefully organized a ceremony in Lahore on Wednesday, July 19, with the intention of officially revealing the Asia Cup schedule and showcasing the trophy. The event was to be attended by esteemed former Pakistan cricketers and the PCB’s Cricket Management Committee (CMC), led by Zaka Ashraf.
However, as per the allegations, merely thirty minutes before the event was set to commence, Jay Shah went on social media to disclose the Asia Cup schedule. This action left the PCB feeling unsatisfied and disheartened by the premature announcement.

“The PCB had a clear understanding with the Asian Cricket Council (that) it would release the schedule of the Asia Cup five minutes after the ceremony started in Lahore. But unfortunately, half-an-hour before the ceremony started around 7:15 p.m., Jay Shah had announced it on social media,” one source in the board told PTI.
According to the source, the PCB conveyed its discontent to the ACC regarding the incident. However, the ACC’s response was that the situation arose due to a misunderstanding.
