The schedule announcement for the Asia Cup 2023 has encountered another delay. Initially, it was agreed upon that only one match between Pakistan and Nepal would be held in Pakistan. However, following discussions between former Management Committee chairman Najam Sethi and ACC officials, it was decided to increase the number of matches hosted by Pakistan to three, and eventually a fourth match was added.

According to the PCB official, the focus is primarily on considering the financial implications rather than whether the games will be played in Sri Lanka or not.

Even during Najam Sethi’s tenure as the head of the PCB Committee, Pakistan engaged in discussions with ACC representatives to secure a financial agreement equivalent to the amount India earned from hosting the Asia Cup in the UAE last year.
