The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) top brass will meet on the eve of the IPL 2023 Final in Ahmedabad to discuss various points on the agenda. The two most important will be Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023. The BCCI Media Rights will be discussed as well. Jay Shah, Secretary of the BCCI, and President Roger Binny have already arrived in Ahmedabad.
“There are a lot of things to discuss. Even though Asia Cup is not part of the agenda officially, the situation will be deliberated. SLC, ACB and BCB officials will be there and the secretary will have a discussion on that after the SGM. World Cup is also an important topic as we do not have long for the tournament. The stadiums are in need of a revamp and we expect the work to begin soon,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
With cricket chiefs from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka attending the IPL 2023 Final, BCCI executives and Jay Shah will discuss the Asia Cup deadlock. The BCCI has softened its stance on moving the entire tournament out of Pakistan. With the support of other Asian nations for the “hybrid model” from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the BCCI is ready to approve it. There will, however, be terms and conditions.
The BCCI has requested assurances regarding Pakistan’s visit to India in October for the World Cup 2023. The situation will be thoroughly discussed on Saturday, prior to the SGM. If everything goes as planned, Pakistan will be able to breathe a sigh of relief because formal approval is very likely.

The World Cup in 2023 is the other major event on the calendar. Pakistan has refused to participate in the match in Ahmedabad. The tournament’s working group will meet to discuss potential venues for the India-Pakistan match as well as Babar Azam’s league games. Three potential locations are Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
After a discussion with the ICC, the list of final venues and World Cup 2023 Schedule are expected next month.
