    BCCI Central Contract 2025 Announced: Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan Return to the List of 34 Players

    The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the central contracts for the 2024–25 season. As expected, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja—who have stepped away from the T20 format—have once again been placed in the A+ category. The fourth player in this elite group is Jasprit Bumrah, who continues to represent India in all three formats.

    A total of 34 players have been included in the central contract list. Notably, both Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have made a return after being dropped last season as a disciplinary action for skipping domestic cricket. Shreyas impressed with his performance in the ICC Champions Trophy, boosting his chances of a comeback. Meanwhile, Ishan also returned to domestic cricket, and both players have now been pardoned and reinstated by the board.

    The list also features newcomers like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar, and spinner Varun Chakravarthy. On the other hand, players who have been dropped from the contract list include Shardul Thakur, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharat, and Avesh Khan. It’s worth mentioning that Ashwin had announced his retirement during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour of Australia.

    According to the BCCI’s contract structure:

    • A+ category players receive INR 7 crore
    • A category players receive INR 5 crore
    • B category players receive INR 3 crore
    • C category players receive INR 1 crore
