Best XI of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022- Virat Kohli Tops the Chart

ICC T20 World Cup is currently on the verge of approaching the semi-final. However, we still don’t know all the teams that will ultimately qualify for the semi-finals. However, New Zealand is certainly one team that has already secured its place in the semi-finals. They have been able to do so because of some fine performances from their unit. Most other teams have not seen the performances they were expecting from their star players.

David Warner, the player of the tournament from the last ICC T20 World Cup 2022, has badly failed in this ongoing tournament. Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, has also failed to consecutively deliver for his team. His partner at the top, KL Rahul, has also been ineffective barring one knock against Bangladesh. Bowlers like Mitchell Starc and Shaheen Shah Afridi have looked lacklustre in the tournament so far. However, many players have also emerged as great performers under pressure in this ICC T20 World Cup. Here we have selected the Best XI or the team that, if it was really a team, would be almost impossible to beat in this T20 World Cup.

Best XI of ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Wicketkeeper: Devon Conway

Batters: Virat Kohli, Rilee Rossouw, Glenn Philips, Suryakumar Yadav

All-rounders: Marcus Stoinis, Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza

Bowlers: Joshua Little, Arshdeep Singh, Anrich Nortje

Here’s Why These Players Were Chosen for Best XI of ICC T20 World Cup 2022

1- Devon Conway: The Kiwi wicket-keeper batter was phenomenal in the opening game against Australia. He set the tone for New Zealand to become the most successful team in the tournament so far. His 92* not out against Australia is just what his team needed to kick-start their campaign. So far, he has looked better than all other wicket-keeper batters in the tournament. In 4 matches, he has 124 runs at an average of 41.33.

2- Virat Kohli: The Indian run machine has destroyed the opponents so far in the T20 World Cup 2022. He has been dismissed only once in the tournament so far. On three occasions, he has remained unbeaten and played match-winning knocks for India. Kohli is towering over this World Cup with an astronomical average of 220 in 4 innings so far. He is also the highest run-scorer in the tournament, with 220 runs to his name. His fabulous innings against Pakistan will be remembered for a long time to come.

3- Rilee Rossouw: The left-handed batter for South Africa is playing games in only one way. Either he perishes without facing too many balls, or he goes on to destroy the opponent. He is the first centurion in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. He blasted a hundred against Bangladesh to register the highest score in the tournament so far. Rossouw has 116 runs in 3 innings with an average of 38.33 in the ongoing World Cup.

4- Glenn Philips: A perfect fielder and a perfect middle-order destructive batter that any team in the world would want in their playing XI right now. Philips scored a sensational hundred against Sri Lanka to register the tournament’s second-best score. He has been a force to reckon with on the field. Glenn Philips has scored 195 runs with an average of 48.75 in 4 innings so far.

5- Suryakumar Yadav: The Indian batter made the pitch look easy when even the great Virat Kohli found it a bit too much against the mighty South Africans. His destructive nature has made him the top-ranked batter in the T20Is. He has 164 runs to his name with an impressive average of 54.66 in 4 innings so far. His strike rate has always been a plus point for India.

6- Marcus Stoinis: Referred to as the Hulk of Australian cricket, Marcus Stoinis has proved how much damage he can do with his batting in this T20 World Cup. His match-saving knock against Sri Lanka, in which he blazed past a fifty and scored 59 off just 18 deliveries, has kept the hopes alive for the Australian team. Stoinis is also a capable bowler who chips in with a few valuable deliveries.

7- Sam Curran: The young all-rounder is perhaps the most overlooked superstar in the ongoing T20 World Cup. He became the first English player to take a fifer in T20Is and registered the best figures in the ongoing tournament for a bowler. He has picked 9 wickets in the tournament so far and has been excellent with his economy rate so far.

8- Sikandar Raza: The Zimbabwe all-rounder has been a revelation in this T20 World Cup. He has won matches for his team with both his batting and bowling. Raza has also taken 9 wickets in the tournament and has scored 185 runs in 7 innings with a healthy strike rate. His highest score in the tournament is 82 runs.

9- Joshua Little: Only bowler to pick a hat-trick this year in Super 12 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Joshua Little has been a find for the Irish team. He was instrumental in the win over England and has played a major role in the Irish campaign this year. Little has been exceptional, with 11 wickets to his name in the tournament.

10- Arshdeep Singh: Around 2-3 months earlier, nobody thought India would rely on Arshdeep instead of Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 World Cup 2022. However, the unthinkable happened due to an unfortunate injury to Bumrah, and Arshdeep has produced results that will make even Bumrah a proud man. He was phenomenal against Pakistan, South Africa and Bangladesh. Arshdeep has picked 9 wickets in the tournament so far.

11- Anrich Nortje: The South African pacer has been fiery and lethal with his seething pace in this tournament. He piled enormous pressure on India in a crucial game and also delivered a great performance against Pakistan. Nortje is among the leading wicket-takers of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, with 10 wickets to his name.
