Big Blow to Lucknow Super Giants Ahead of IPL 2024, this assistant coach left after Gautam Gambhir

As the tournament approaches, fans eagerly await the official schedule and anticipate how the revamped LSG, under the leadership of KL Rahul and a new coaching setup, will perform in IPL 2024.

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season approaches, teams are gearing up with new strategies, transfers, and coaching staff changes. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), led by KL Rahul, has encountered a significant setback with the departure of assistant coach Vijay Dahiya. This development follows the earlier exits of head coach Andy Flower and former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir from the LSG franchise.

Vijay Dahiya, a former Indian wicketkeeper, played a crucial role in LSG’s journey to the playoffs in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He had been an integral part of the coaching staff under Andy Flower since the team’s inception in 2022. Dahiya took to social media to express his gratitude and bid farewell to LSG. In an Instagram post, he stated, “The time has come to say goodbye to LSG. Working with Lucknow over the last two years was a wonderful experience. Best wishes to Team LSG.”

This coaching change comes in the wake of the appointment of former Australian opener Justin Langer as the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants, replacing Andy Flower. Langer, known for his successful coaching tenure and notable victories in the T20 World Cup and Ashes with the Australian team, brings a wealth of experience to the franchise.

The revamped coaching lineup for IPL 2024 includes former India spinner Sridharan Sriram as the assistant coach. Additionally, the support staff features renowned names like Pravin Tambe, Morne Morkel, and Jonty Rhodes, adding further experience and expertise to the LSG camp.

While coaching changes are common in the IPL, the departure of key personnel like Vijay Dahiya raises questions about the team’s adjustment to the new coaching structure. Lucknow Super Giants, aiming to go beyond the playoffs in the upcoming season, will rely on the collective experience of their coaching staff to guide the team to success.
