Pakistan Cricket Team are caught in a pinch after losing four matches in a row before bouncing back to register an emphatic win against Bangladesh. Currently, Pakistan relies on the results of other games to qualify for the semi finals in World Cup 2023. The team led by Babar Azam is still in shambles and is not performing at its peak. Pakistan needs to win the last two league matches at any cost to stand a chance at qualifying for the semi-finals.

Possible Scenarios in Which Pakistan Can Qualify for World Cup 2023 Semi-final

    Scenario 1:

If Australia loses its remaining three matches of the league stage and Pakistan manages to win its last two matches then Pakistan would finish with 10 points while Aussies would manage only 8 points. This means that Pakistan could reach semi-final if only one of the New Zealand, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka manages to get 10 or more points on the board.

    Scenario 2:

If Pakistan defeats New Zealand and England while New Zealand loses its remaining league match as well then Pakistan would finish with 10 points and Kiwis will stay at 8 points. This gives Pakistan a very likely chance to qualify for the semi-finals. However, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka also needs to have less than 10 points or 10 points with a worse net run rate than Pakistan to make this scenario work.

    Scenario 3:

If Both New Zealand and Australia fail to register 10 points at the league stage and Pakistan manages to do so then Pakistan would certainly qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup 2023. However, the condition about Afghanistan and Sri Lanka remains the same from previous scenario.
