Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s divorce has not been finalized yet. Dhanashree’s lawyer told the media that the case is still in court. On Thursday, media reports claimed that their divorce was already finalized.
According to a TOI report, Dhanashree’s family also denied asking Yuzvendra or his family for ₹60 crore. Chahal and Dhanashree got married in December 2020 and had been living separately since 2023.
Lawyer Says Divorce Not Final Yet
Dhanashree’s lawyer, Aditi Mohan, stated, “The case is still in court, and the divorce has not been finalized. The media should fact-check before reporting. Many false reports are being spread about them.”
Family Denies ₹60 Crore Alimony Demand
Dhanashree’s family clarified, “We are saddened by false reports regarding alimony. We have not demanded any amount from Chahal, nor has he offered anything. The claim of ₹60 crore is completely false. We request the media to stop spreading such misinformation.”
Living Separately for 18 Months
The lawyer also revealed that the couple had been living separately for the last 18 months before making a final decision. Rumors about Chahal and Dhanashree’s divorce had been circulating on social media for a long time. However, neither Chahal nor Dhanashree has issued an official statement.

During an episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, Dhanashree Verma shared her love story with Yuzvendra Chahal. She revealed that Chahal contacted her for dance lessons during the lockdown. Eventually, she agreed to teach him, and over time, they fell in love.

Dhanashree Removed Chahal’s Name from Instagram in 2023
In 2023, Yuzvendra Chahal posted an Instagram story saying, “A new life is coming.” Around the same time, actress Dhanashree removed “Chahal” from her Instagram username, sparking divorce rumors. However, Chahal later dismissed these rumors as false.
Yuzvendra Chahal Currently Not in Team India
Yuzvendra Chahal is currently out of the Indian team. He was part of the squad that won the T20 World Cup 2024 but did not get a chance to play any match. He last played an ODI for India in January 2023 and a T20I in August 2023. Despite this, Punjab Kings bought him for ₹18 crore in the IPL 2025 auction.
