Champions Trophy: Scheduled to be held in Pakistan next year, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has begun preparations. There is speculation whether the Indian team will travel to the neighboring country for this tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not officially commented on this yet, but reports suggest that India may request to host matches in Sri Lanka or Dubai instead.
According to sources within the Indian Cricket Board, the possibility of India traveling to Pakistan for next year’s Champions Trophy is very low. The BCCI may propose to the ICC to host matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka instead. It’s worth noting that last year’s Asia Cup was conducted under the high-profile model where all of India’s matches were held in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan has started its preparations for the tournament, with PCB allocating approximately 17 billion rupees for the maintenance of its stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. PCB Chairman Mohsin Khan informed board members that the Champions Trophy will be fully hosted in Pakistan, with further discussions expected at the ICC’s annual board meeting in Colombo later this month.
The decision of the BCCI regarding this matter remains under scrutiny. This will mark Pakistan’s first hosting of a major ICC tournament since 1996, although it hosted the entire Asia Cup in 2008 and some matches of the same tournament last year. The BCCI is yet to officially confirm whether it will send the national team to Pakistan for the ICC tournament, keeping everyone’s attention fixed on this decision.
