The News18 article quoted Gambhir, “Virat Kohli would have taken singles on 195 if he had been there. But Glenn Maxwell chose to hit six, that’s what makes him different.”

The BJP MP from Delhi took to Twitter to clarify, “What bullsh*t! When I say something, I say it openly. To all the so-called verified handles – cite source or apologize!” Later, News18 apologized, tweeting, “Dear Gautam Gambhir, we sincerely apologize for the inadvertent error. The story has been taken down.”

Notably, a few days ago, Gambhir criticized Kohli’s batting approach, feeling Kohli slowed down to achieve his 49th ODI hundred and equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record against South Africa at Eden Gardens.
