In the Super Four clash of Asia Cup 2023, Team India faced off against Sri Lanka. Winning the toss, India opted to bat but couldn’t perform at their best, managing only 213 runs before getting all out in 49.1 overs. However, Kuldeep Yadav played a pivotal role in restricting Sri Lanka during their chase.

In a hard-fought battle, Team India emerged victorious over Sri Lanka by a margin of 41 runs, securing their place in the event finals set for September 17 at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. During the match, an incident involving substitute fielder Suryakumar Yadav caught attention. He took a stunning catch off Hardik Pandya’s delivery to dismiss Maheesh Theekshana. While others celebrated the wicket, Pandya’s refusal to shake Yadav’s hand raised eyebrows.

Upon closer inspection of the video, it appeared that when Hardik withdrew his hand, he patted Surya on the shoulder with his other hand and engaged in conversation during the incident. This has led to speculation about a potential injury or tension between the two players. Some believe that Pandya might have been avoiding a handshake due to a finger injury sustained during the catch.

Next up, Team India is scheduled to face Bangladesh to conclude their Super Four stage on Friday, September 15, 2023. Following that, they will compete in the tournament final against the winner of the Sri Lanka vs. Pakistan match. Before their 41-run victory over Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma and his team had an impressive 228-run win over Pakistan.
