    The R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, formerly known as Khettarama Stadium, has hosted One Day International (ODI) matches since its inaugural ODI on 5th April 1986. Over the course of 149 ODIs until the latest recorded match on 8th January 2024, the home side has secured victory in 53.02% of the matches, amounting to 79 wins. The touring side has won 27.52% of the matches (41 wins), while the neutral side has claimed victory in 13.42% of the matches (20 wins).

    Teams batting first have won 51.95% of the matches (80 wins), and those chasing have emerged victorious in 37.66% of the contests (58 wins). Winning the toss has proved advantageous, with the team winning the toss securing victory in 50% of the matches (77 wins), while the team losing the toss has won 40.91% of the matches (63 wins). There have been no tied matches, but 9 matches ended with no result (6.04%).

    The highest individual innings recorded at the venue is 169 by K C Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) on 20th July 2013 against South Africa. The best bowling performance was by A D Mathews (Sri Lanka), who took 6/20 on 12th September 2009 against India.

    The highest team innings was achieved by India, scoring 375/5 on 31st August 2017 against Sri Lanka. On the other hand, the lowest team innings was 50 by Sri Lanka on 17th September 2023 against India. The highest successful run chase was 292/4 by Sri Lanka on 19th June 2022 against Australia.

    On average, there are 29.51 runs per wicket, and the scoring rate is 4.88 runs per over at the R Premadasa Stadium. In summary, the stadium has witnessed a rich history of ODIs with notable performances and competitive outcomes.
