West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from franchise Twenty20 cricket, effective at the end of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 season. The 40-year-old revealed his decision on Instagram.

Bravo, who retired from international cricket after the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE, will continue to represent Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL 2024, with their campaign starting on Sunday against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Over his remarkable T20 career, Bravo has become the leading wicket-taker in the format, amassing 630 wickets in 578 matches, while also contributing 6,970 runs with the bat.

Reflecting on his CPL journey, Bravo, a key figure for the Trinbago Knight Riders since the franchise’s inception in 2013, announced his retirement from the Caribbean Premier League. After a decade-long association with TKR, where he has played in over 100 CPL matches and taken 128 wickets, Bravo’s retirement marks the end of an era for the tournament.
