CWC 2023: Deepak Chahar out of the race for Cricket World Cup 2023 – Reports

Deepak Chahar experienced a hamstring pull while bowling in the very first over of the match between CSK and MI.

IPL 2023 will be playing a major role in deciding which players are going to be picked for the Cricket World Cup 2023 to be held in India. While some players have a fixed spot in the World Cup squad, some may be out of the squad due to their poor performance in IPL 2023.

One such player is Deepak Chahar. Deepak Chahar made a comeback in IPL 2023 after a long-term injury. However, he failed to impress anyone with his bowling. Moreover, he recently suffered a Hamstring Injury in the match against MI, and it may put him out of the race for the World Cup.

As per reports, Team India is likely to go into the World Cup with Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur as their fast-bowling all-rounders. Hardik Pandya’s place in the World Cup squad is almost fixed, and Shardul Thakur’s roaring performance against RCB has certainly put him ahead of Deepak Chahar. Hence, the report could be believed.

Chennai Super Kings could miss pace spearhead Deepak Chahar in their next few IPL games after his left hamstring injury seemed to have resurfaced once again.

CSK legend Suresh Raina, who is doing commentary for ‘Jio Cinema’ said: “It seems Deepak will be out for 4-5 games. It looks he has again sustained hamstring injury and looked in discomfort. All the other IPL venues are far off from Chennai and there will be lot of travelling involved.”
