India is going to face Sri Lanka at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 2nd November 2023. This will be India’s first match at the venue where the men in blue lifted the trophy back in 2011. Everything is going well for India with six wins in a row. However, there are a few causes of concerns that needs to be managed.
Mohammed Siraj walked in the tournament as the number one ranked pace bowler in the world. He has lost that spot to Josh Hazlewood with his uncharacterised show in the tournament. Siraj has picked up a few wickets but has always been expensive in the ongoing tournament.

He went for considerable runs in the game against England in which almost everyone bowled well. Siraj is just not finding the perfect rhythm in the tournament so far. He has failed to live up to the expectations. Instead, Mohammed Shami has stepped up as the second best option for India after Jasprit Bumrah.
India could decide to leave Siraj out of the playing XI against Sri Lanka. Shardul Thakur could come back in as Wankhede Stadium is a high scoring ground and his batting could prove to be useful. Hardik Pandya is also expected to make a return which means that Thakur would not have bowl his full quota and relax a bit.
