As the cricketing world eagerly anticipates the clash of titans in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final, former Australian batsman Michael Bevan has weighed in on the much-anticipated showdown between India and Australia. The World Cup final between India and Australia marks a historic moment in the competition, with both teams showcasing exceptional form. The Men in Blue have been nothing short of dominant, winning every game on their path to the final. Meanwhile, Australia, after a shaky start that included a notable loss to India, bounced back with an impressive seven consecutive victories to secure their spot in the semifinals.

In the backdrop of these remarkable performances, Michael Bevan, a key figure in Australia’s 2003 World Cup-winning team, has shared his insights on the potential outcome of the final.

When quizzed about his prediction for the World Cup 2023 final, Michael Bevan did not mince his words. The Australian cricket legend unequivocally declared India as the clear favorites for the championship title. Bevan acknowledged the depth of talent within the Australian squad but pointed out a need for improvement in their batting department.

“Reaching the World Cup final is a tremendous achievement, something that doesn’t happen very often. We have two teams playing in the final who are at their top form. The Australians have a lot of talents and have players who can make a difference at any point in a game. I believe the Aussies need to improve their batting,” Bevan expressed in an interview with ANI.

Bevan highlighted the significance of winning the toss in the final, suggesting that the team winning the toss might opt to bat first given the favorable conditions for batting. Acknowledging India’s resurgence after a slow start in the tournament, Bevan commended their tremendous comeback.

“India are the clear favorite, but the potential for Australia to win the ODI World Cup 2023 is also there. Whoever wins the toss will be going to bat first since it is a good batting team. After a slow start in the tournament, they have made a tremendous comeback,” the 53-year-old cricket veteran added.
