Former Indian fast bowler Praveen Kumar, who represented the national team from 2007 to 2012, was involved in a car accident on Tuesday night in Meerut. The incident occurred around 10 pm near the commissioner’s residence.
Praveen Kumar, who resides in Multan Nagar on Baghpat Road, was traveling with his son in his Land Rover Defender when their car was hit from the front by a canter, causing significant damage to the vehicle.
Thankfully, both the 36-year-old cricketer and his son escaped unhurt. Given the condition of the car, the outcome could have been far more severe.
Upon receiving the news, the police promptly arrived at the scene and detained the truck driver for violating traffic rules. They also seized his phone as part of their investigation.

The accident involving Praveen Kumar brought back memories of a similar incident involving Rishabh Pant last year. In December, Pant was involved in a car accident where he crashed into a divider, resulting in burns and fractures. He had to be treated at a local hospital.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Praveen Kumar has faced a car-related tragedy. In 2007, during a roadshow celebrating his homecoming in Meerut, the former Indian pacer fell out of an open jeep.
