Gautam Gambhir, the former World Cup-winning player, has said that Rahul Tripathi is one of the players that you want to see playing for India. He hailed the approach of Rahul Tripathi and said that India needs players like him in the squad who can bat anywhere with the same intent and approach.
Rahul Tripathi recently blasted 35 off just 16 balls in the final T20 against Sri Lanka. He was exceptional and changed the momentum of the game in favour of India when Shubman Gill found himself struggling on the other end. Gautam Gambhir is highly impressed by Rahul Tripathi’s attitude, and he wants him in India’s ODI World Cup 2023 squad.
Gautam Gambhir said, “Rahul Tripathi is a player who has batted at every number, but his approach remains the same whether he plays against the new ball or in the middle order. You want to see players like him.” Gambhir has been very vocal about India’s plans for the upcoming World Cup 2023, and he has made one statement after another on this issue.
India will play the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka from 10th January 2023, and unfortunately, Rahul Tripathi is not part of that squad.
