Who will be India Cricket Team head coach after the term of Rahul Dravid ends when the T20 World Cup 2024 comes to the conclusion? Board of Control for Cricket in India recently announced that the application for the post of head coach was open. The application process went till 27th May 2024. Now, the time to select the head coach has come.
Many reputed candidates have made the rumours for the position. However, none of them are yet to be confirmed. Ricky Ponting was thought to be one of the frontrunners but he said that he has not applied for the position because it is quite demanding and requires more than 10 months of your year.
On the other hand, the New Zealand great Stephen Fleming, who coaches Chennai Super Kings has also denied his involvement in the race for India head coach.

One name that is making headlines all over the world for India head coach position is Gautam Gambhir. The former Indian opener mentored the Kolkata Knight Riders in their third successful trophy lifting campaign in IPL 2024.
The demand to make Gambhir as the head coach has caught fire on social media with many former cricketers like Irfan Pathan and Suresh Raina supporting his cause. BCCI is reportedly in talks with Gambhir.
It is assumed that Gambhir has been finalised for the head coach post and the official announcement regarding the same will come soon. Both the BCCI and Gautam Gambhir are yet to make a statement regarding the same. Gambhir will need to leave KKR if he wants to lead India as head coach.
