After this, in the evening, Gambhir reached Mumbai with his wife, so it is expected that Gambhir’s name can be announced within the next 24 hours.
Team India has to play big tournaments
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had announced a few days ago that the new coach will take charge of the team from the Sri Lanka tour. In such a situation, the board would also like to give them a chance to prepare by announcing it as soon as possible. The tenure of the new coach of Team India will be 3.5 years i.e. he will be the coach of Team India till 31 December 2027. During this period, the Indian team has to play important tournaments like Champions Trophy, 2 World Test Championships, T20 World Cup 2026 and World Cup 2027.
