After the first Qualifier of IPL 2025, it’s now time for the Eliminator clash. This match is played between the teams finishing third and fourth on the points table. The knockout match will be held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians. The losing team will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winner will face Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2.
Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans had a strong start to the season, but they lost momentum in the latter half. Despite topping the table for most of the season, two consecutive losses pushed them down to the third position. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai Indians began the season slowly but made a strong comeback. They won six consecutive matches and secured the fourth spot on the table with 16 points.
Pitch Report – Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, Mullanpur
The pitch at Mullanpur is known to be batting-friendly. The ball comes onto the bat nicely, offering good bounce, making it easier for batters to score runs. However, fast bowlers do get some assistance in the early overs. The pitch conditions are somewhat similar to Mumbai’s home ground, the Wankhede Stadium. So far, five matches have been played here this season — in three of them, teams crossed the 200-run mark, while on three other occasions, teams were bowled out for less than 120.

Punjab bowled out for just 101 in Qualifier 1
Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025 was also played at this venue. Punjab Kings were bowled out for just 101 runs against RCB. The pitch offered early movement for pacers, but poor shot selection by Punjab’s batters led to their downfall. They kept attempting big shots and kept losing wickets. Although RCB faced a brief challenge early on, they chased down the 102-run target in just 10 overs with ease.
