Gujarat Titans are one of the two new franchises to be part of TATA IPL 2022 for a 10 team format tournament. Ahmedabad-based franchise aced the pre-auction setup after they managed to draft Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill in their team for a competitive playing 11 side formation.
The team created a sensation among the other teams after they spent 38 crores on 3 players retention which was ultra-expensive in comparison to other teams. However, they got the services of precious players which might have been impossible to acquire at the auction pool.
Hardik Pandya will be leading the franchise in the IPL for the first time. Gujarat Titans playing 11 seems to be a team whose players have been struggling to find their forms like David Miller, Rahul Tewatia and many more. Moreover, their destructive batting opener Jason Roy has already pulled out of the IPL 2022 citing bubble fatigue.
The reports and critics believe Gujarat Titans seems to be below-average as the team merely acquired 20 players. Gujarat Titans playing 11 doesn’t seem to frighten the other teams at least on papers.
Here are the names of all 20 players bought by Gujarat Titans at TATA IPL 2022-

We have curated a list of possible Gujarat Titans Playing 11 for IPL 2022-
Top Order Batting
(Wriddhiman Saha, Shubhman Gill & Vijay Shankar)
Shubhman Gill’s top order partner Jason Roy pulled out of IPL 2022 citing bubble fatigue which is a bonus for Wriddhiman Saha as he will be promoted to top order position where he loves to perform. Moreover, he even has a century to his name at that position in the finals of IPL. Additionally, Vijay Shankar at number 3 can accelerate as well as anchor the innings smoothly.
Middle Order & All-Rounders
( David Miller, Mathew Wade, Hardik Pandya, Rahul Tewatia )
The middle-order looks quite brawny on papers, however, the players including Hardik Pandya have been out of touch which might be a concern point for the franchise. But, without a doubt, any one of these batters with those threatening high strike rates can turn around the match results in their favor. Rahul Tewatia’s five sixes to Sheldon Cortell in 1 over is still afresh in everyone’s mind.
Bowlers
( Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Lockie Ferguson & Mohammad Shami )
Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson and Mohammad Shami are the experienced bowlers in this line-up who know what a team expects from them as a bowler. They have successfully managed to keep the batters under the radar. It will be tough for batters to face Ferguson’s and Shami’s pace attack with Rashid Khan’s spin threat. However, R Sai Kishore, a left-arm orthodox spinner could be targeted by batters but the bowler has performed exceptionally well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy previously where he had been a leading wicket-taker too for a season.
