Bryant looked confident though and steadied the ship along with Billings. They put on a 52-run partnership before Bryant got out for 46. After that, Billings took responsibility and scored 79 runs to take his side to a decent total of 166 runs.
The run chase began with Adelaide Strikers losing four wickets in the powerplay. Colin de Grandhomme and Kelly did build a strong 73-run stand to bring them back into the game. But they both lost their wickets in successive overs. This put the Strikers behind. Despite some competent play by the lower order, they were unable to chase down the target and failed to win the match, and fell short of 6 runs.
