Pakistan Cricket Team is on the verge of being thrown out of the race for the semi-finals in ICC ODI World Cup 2023. They have lost four out of the six matches played in the tournament and need to win all of their matches to give themselves a chance to qualifying for the semi-finals.
Pakistan’s timid batting approach has made several headlines during the tournament. They have failed to convert starts into big scored and have paid the price for it. Abdullah Shafique was brought in as the replacement for Fakhar Zaman in the playing XI after the latter failed in the first couple of matches during the tournament.

Shafique has been good with the bat but Imam-Ul-Haq has failed miserably in the tournament. He is yet to play an innings that could justify his place as the opener in the playing XI. It seems that Pakistan management has finally decided to let go of Imam-Ul-Haq and give another chance to the flamboyant Fakhar Zaman at the top.
Pakistan will face Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata where the latter is expected to get a good support. Eden Gardens is a batting paradise and Pakistan would need quick fire runs from their openers. Therefore this could be the match in which Fakhar Zaman finally makes a return.
