Dinesh Karthik on Mohammad Siraj’s performance- Mohammad Siraj has emerged to be one of the most important bowlers for India. His pace and swing has made him unplayable even for some of the world-class batsmen.
While Mohammad Siraj hasn’t got significant wickets to his name in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, he bowled superbly in the 1st ODI against Australia, taking 3 wickets for just 29 runs in his 5.4 overs.
With Cricket World Cup 2023 near, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik feels that Mohammad Siraj should definitely be a part of the team for the tournament.
While talking with the Cricbuzz, Karthik said, “I will be surprised if Siraj doesn’t feature in the 2023 World Cup squad.”
This is not the first time when Dinesh Karthik praised Mohammad Siraj. Just a few weeks back, during an interaction with the Cricbuzz, Siraj was asked about Mohammed Siraj.
“I’m very sure that he would be part of the 2023 World Cup team. He deserves that spot, he has done really well. The 2022 IPL taught him a lot of things about handling failures, and that has kept him in good stead. I see him as one of those — let’s just say he doesn’t get injuries — at least a 300-wicket Test bowler.” said Dinesh Karthik.
“He definitely has the aptitude for that, he has the skill set for that. It’s only the matter of whether he can stay fit for that long. He has shown so far that he’s very reliable. His strongest in Test cricket, one-dayers will come after that. T20s is where he is still learning.” he added.
