With just four months remaining until the commencement of the tournament, the ICC is still awaiting the final schedule for the upcoming ODI World Cup from India. Typically, dates for global events are announced well in advance to allow fans and teams to make necessary preparations.
During a briefing after the BCCI’s meeting last month, it was anticipated that the World Cup schedule would be unveiled during the World Test Championship final in London. However, according to ICC’s chief executive, Geoff Allardice, they have yet to receive the final schedule from India.
The delay in announcing the schedule has raised concerns among fans and teams who require sufficient time for planning their arrangements. In previous instances, World Cup schedules were typically disclosed several years ahead of time.

Allardice explained that the ICC collaborates closely with the hosts to determine the schedule, engaging in consultations with cricket boards and governments. He expressed optimism in receiving the schedule soon and assured that the ICC’s experienced events team is well-equipped to organize cricket tournaments worldwide.
Upon receiving the schedule, the ICC will consult with participating teams and broadcasters before officially releasing it. Allardice emphasized the significance of expediting this process.
