The schedule for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India has faced an unprecedented delay, but according to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, it is now expected to be announced this week. The draft version of the schedule is already available, revealing that Team India will play their first match against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan game is set to take place on October 15 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with a crowd capacity of 100,000 spectators.
The final match of the tournament will also be held at the same venue. The venues for the semi-finals have not been confirmed in the draft version but are likely to take place on November 15 and 16.
Other important matches for Team India include one against New Zealand in Dharamsala and another against England in Lucknow. India will conclude their league matches on November 11 in Bengaluru against a qualifying team.
Pakistan, on the other hand, will play their matches at five different venues, starting with matches against two qualifying teams in Hyderabad on October 6 and 12. They will finish their campaign on November 12 against England in Kolkata.
Fans overseas are eagerly awaiting the official announcement as they need to make travel arrangements, although there has been no update on ticket sales.
